How to Spot Suspicious Men in Internet Chat Rooms
Warning Signs for Women to Look Out For.
A Guide to the "Cyber Perv" and how to spot suspicious men in Internet Chat Rooms.
The internet can be a strange place and internet chatrooms are no exception. From personal experience there seem to be two kinds of men in them (i) Strange 'DODGY' suspicious men and the (ii) relatively normal ones.
Sadly from the experience of many of my female friends (and some male friends) the normal men are in a minority.
The 'Dodgy' suspicious men come in a number of shapes and sizes and can either be considered to have mental issues, weird sexual fetishes or just be completely on a different planet. Below I'm going to take you through a number of scenarios for you to watch out for and ways you can consider to manipulate the conversation.
Many internet chatrooms have 'Block' buttons and I recommend that you consider this an option.
There are a number of different forms of "Cyber Perv" as detailed below that you will potentially come across in internet chatrooms. Be aware of these cyber pervs as they can be seriously annoying.
Some of the below may come up in your normal conversation and you may be perfe. ctly ok with conversation which takes in the below themes if they are handled in the right way. Use your discretion.

1. Sexual Fetishists
The internet is awash with adult material and it seems that open sexual offers have integrated into many relatively normal chat rooms. If this is not your idea of normal use the block button on anyone opening up a private message to requests regarding BDSM
What is BDSM? What does BDSM stand for? -
Bondage,
Discipline,
Sado Masochism.
In Internet sexuality if someone asks "Are you a top or a bottom?" It means are you dominant (a "Top") or submissive (a "Bottom"). It might sound innocent when you first read it, however it has a darker real world meaning.
"Would you like to try ball busting?" Sadly 'ball busting' is a fetish practice that involves striking a man's genitalia. Use the Block button unless this kind of practice is of interest to you.
2. Men with an Obsession for Larger Ladies. (BBW's)
For many Big is Beautiful. Text speak and internet chat laziness has developed the term BBW- Big Beautiful Woman. Many men have an unhealthy obsession with larger ladies. To quote a post I recently saw in ukchatterbox
<Grappler> m 39 single, big build, has an unusual interest in wrestling. looking to chat to large ladies. pm me
To me that feels an obscure request however maybe Grappler will meet someone into this interest and they will both be happy. Block if it's not for you!
He actually wrote that just as I started writing this hub, so thank you Grappler for the inspiration.
3. Men Obsessed with Sex and Female Anatomy
Sadly the relative anonymity of an internet chat room means that you could potentially ask crude or inappropriate questions to complete strangers safe in the knowledge that the person is on the other end of the internet (possibly at the other end of the world too). Some men therefore like to message rude requests which would subsequently receive a slap across the face if it was asked in person in a city centre bar! Would you really walk up to a woman in real life and ask...
· Their Bra Size?
· Favourite sexual position?
· Any other sexual question
Use the Block button immediately.
4. Men Pretending to be Women
Yes, some men are so devious that they pretend to be women in internet chat rooms. They seem to think that befriending a 'fellow' female gives them a different avenue to explore. This can be a very subtle technique although if you pay attention to the story you may find it exaggerates certain feminine aspects.
Be weary of what you are talking about and you will likely find that a man talks in a slightly different way and may try to lead a conversation along more adult avenues. In particular bodily issues like breasts or or specific feminine areas.
When you realise that it's likely to be a man- the Block button should be used.

5. Men who simply say Hi
How many times have you been in a chat room and had a private message that simply says "Hi"? If someone can hold a conversation together they should be able to write in sentences!
It's up to you on this one. You could continue chatting in the possibility the initial message is from a slightly shy, insecure chatter safe in the knowledge that you can block the chatter if required.
